This 4 week series has been cancelled due to low signups. I will offer it again in the future.
Who is this for? This is for all UC parents of high school, young adult and adult age.
During the 4 week series, the topics below will be addressed, you will have opportunities to practice in breakout rooms, and you will gain skills to put into practice with your family. This 4 week series is $40/individual or couple.
Topics that will be addressed:
As a relationship and family coach as well as a matching supporter, I recognize the importance of parents and young adults being able to communicate with each other in life and especially during the matching process. My husband and I have three sons who are all blessed and I discovered how important listening and having honest communication is while navigating this important process.
Did you know that we only hear about 25% of what someone says to us in a conversation? We usually listen to respond with our own ideas instead of listening to understand the other person. In this four--week course, you will gain tools to help you create safety, connection, understanding, and empathy with your teenagers and young adult children. Having this kind of relationship will go along way in supporting your family matching process and beyond.
Through educational presentations, discussions, demonstrations and role-playing in pairs, you will discover ways of creating more loving relationships with your children as well as your spouse, friends and co-workers. Dr. David Augsburger said it so well, "Being heard is so close to being loved that for the average person, they are almost indistinguishable."

What past participants had said about this course:
***It was so nice to honestly share with each other under guidance of Mrs. Myrna. She holds the space for us to open up and healing. I become close to other parents supporting this inner journey we go through. We need to have this kind space for our healing. Our healing is a healing of our own children and healing for the world💖
***I really appreciated the series of Strengthen your Legacy, I learned that love and compassion and listening to understand are a must for developing trust and confidence with my spouse and children.
***Through this course, I became more aware of myself - how I respond to things and how some of these reactions are protective behaviors that I need to work on lessening in order to build a strong connection with our kids.
***I learned how to ask guiding questions that show my children that I care and at the same time, clarify whose is responsible for the outcome, (for example: “Is there anything that you would have done differently?”) I also learned how to support them by listening to communicate that they are loved.
